I have noticed a distinct decline in interactions on Mastodon recently, the last and only social media platform I still use. The number of followers and the number of responders is markedly different. It always was but recently I feel it has become even more one sided. I assume most of the followers are just looking for follow back and so aren’t interacting anyway. This was the same on Twitter, and other platforms I used in the past. I don’t do follow to follow back, I am not in it for the numbers but rather the interaction.
To that end I am wondering whether it is worth posting there directly anymore, or rather just post a link to a blog or note article like this one.
At least that way I have control over the post and its visibilty/exposure. Interested in your thoughts…
