Alistair MacLean Rambling mess of a pretentious espionage thriller. Okay in places, dire in others. The ending though was simply rambling verbosity. The whole story is told in the epilogue so read that and you’re covered. ★★☆☆☆ A nostalgic yet tedious read
Joe Haleman Interesting antique sci-fi novel set initially in 1997 and then moving through a thousand years due to time dilation and the author’s vivid imagination. It was a mixed bag of tech nonsense and social madness, all in all a readable science fiction classic As much a period piece of 70’s pop-culture as anything else. ★★★☆☆ Mostly Recommended
Frederick Forsyth A story about the attempt to cover up the execution of a KGB head and a grain harvest failure in USSR. In parts interesting in parts tedious, but well written book. Had it been 30% shorter it would have been a much better book. ★★★☆☆ Recommended
Frederick Forsyth Extremely detailed story about the planning and background of the overthrow of an African leader. Most of the action is in the final chapters. I enjoyed it but found it a little overly detailed and wondered when the action starts, when it did it was over quickly. ★★★☆☆ Recommended
